Orange Stripes

Monterey Bay boat watercolor painting Margy Gates

A few years ago when I was getting ready for a solo show at the Ventura County Maritime Museum, I was offered a boat upcoast south of Monterey Bay to paint from. Docked in a working harbor, I was surrounded by a lot of shape possibilities and activities, but American harbors, unlike Greek harbors, have little color. It was good to run across some splashes of orange. Original watercolor

Fine art giclée prints from watercolors & acrylics, with a focus on ocean and island life.
